The Heart Chakra

The Sanskrit word for the fourth chakra is Anahata, which means “unstruck” or “unhurt”. It implies that beneath the hurts and grievances of past experiences lies a pure and spiritual place where no hurt exists.

There is no one else who understands better, then this months guest Alice McCready, what it means to have an open heart.

Her healing modalities have the ability to clear blockages to live a more fulfilled life, full of compassion towards ourselves and others.

What are its main attributes?

The fourth chakra is at the centre of the seven chakras. It is the area where the physical and the spiritual meet. It is located at the centre of the chest and includes the heart, cardiac plexus, thymus gland, lungs, and breasts.

What are the Akashic Records?

The Akashic Records are an amazing way to understanding yourself at a soul level. It’s your unique journey, right from where it started throughout many different lifetimes. It allows people to gain an understanding on their cycles and karmic blockages. The Akashic Records as an entity in itself can essentially be described as a vibrational field.

“I like to refer to it as Spiritual Google. And in this search engine everyone has a profile, which is kind of like a Facebook profile.”

It holds all you need to know about your soul from your first ever incarnation up until now. Within readings information will come through in a way that is easy to process, helping individuals to move forward. Meaning they will get to know what karmic cycles are coming to an end and what energies need to be shifted.

What is RTT?

RTT stands for Rapid Transformational Therapy and in comparison to the Akashic Healing is a much more analytical and psychological approach, using also hypnotherapy. It was developed by a woman called Marisa Peer, an internationally known therapist who has worked with many Fortune 500 executives, celebrities, and royalty over the past 30 years. It uses CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Hypnotherapy and a few other cognitive practices.

What does an unbalanced heart chakra feel like?

Someone whose heart chakra is out of balance struggles for their emotional needs to be met. They may also struggle to feel or show their emotions in general.

Because it is conjured in the chest area, it would naturally travel up to the throat to be expressed. But if that is not available, then it travels straight into the head making you feel foggy and cloudy. Each emotion has its little organ house, where unexpressed feelings manifest and anxiety can be a directly result from unexpressed emotions. According to Chinese Medicine for example, anger is stored in the liver, grief lives in the lungs, hatred can live in the heart and fear lives in the kidneys.

“The feeling that cannot find its expression in tears, will cause other organs to weep.”.

Alice’s advice on how to balance our heart chakra

  • Remember that there is no such thing as bad or positive emotions. They are all valid, useful and important.

  • Emotions = energy in motion. They are temporary states and won’t last forever.

  • An exercise that you can try is to respond in a different way. Instead of feeling ‘good’, ‘fine’, ‘tired’ or ‘stressed’ use a different language. For example ‘I feel fulfilled’, ‘I feel light’, ‘I feel heavy and frustrated’.

In conclusion, to reach a balanced heart chakra you allow yourself to feel everything, the full range and spectrum of every emotion. They act as a compass to show what is in and out of alignment, at that point in time.
